Hackers Announce Xbox 360 Intentions News

BBC reports on an announcement by one set of hackers as they make their attempts at cracking Xbox 360 software known...
The BBC has today reported on attempts by a group of hackers known as Team PI Coder to bypass the various copy protection systems on Xbox 360. According to the article, the group has managed to extract raw data from up to thirteen Xbox 360 from information created on the console itself, and not from the actual game disks.
However, the group has acknowledged that the raw data is just the beginning of the process. In a statement included in the BBC's report, Team PI Coder write: "You can't run these dumps yet, but you will be able to sooner or later."
Hacking and modding the original Xbox so it could run various applications is well documented, including the prosecution of one man in the UK for selling the console with a range of pre-installed games in July 2005.
