HDMI Port Confirmed For US Xbox 360 Premium News

Although it may take a while before such additions apply to other territories as well...


Following firstly speculation, and then confirmation yesterday that Microsoft will be slowly introducing an HDMI port on Xbox 360 Premium SKUs, reports from Kotaku.com suggest that there will be no such introduction in the Australia and New Zealand territory for "some time yet".

Microsoft told Kotaku: "Retailers in the US are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand. This is not something that will affect ANZ [Australian & New Zealand] retailers or consumers for some time yet."

There has been no confirmation from Microsoft as yet that there will be a similar HDMI port introduction in Europe, fuelling speculation that an HDMI port on Premium Xbox 360 units will be unique to Microsoft's target US market for the time being.

With the Elite Xbox 360 SKU set for European release on August 24th, it seems unlikely that Microsoft will introduce one of the stand-out features on the more expensive Elite model for the Premium SKU simultaneously.

lol well then your lucky that your 360 as not broke and for the record never said the 360 was crap i own all 3 formats and think they all have there own merits ,as for backwards compatibility how many acutully play old games on your ps3s or 360s any... [ Read full comment... ]
