Guild Wars takes the best elements of today's massively multiplayer online games and combines them with a new mission-based design that eliminates the tedium of those games. You can meet new friends in towns or outposts, form a party, and then go tackle a quest together. Your party always has its own unique copy of the quest map, so camping, kill-stealing, and long lines to complete quests are all things of the past.

ArenaNet’s eagerly awaited MMORPG flies towards shop shelves across the globe...

ArenaNet and NCSoft today announced the worldwide release of the highly anticipated MMORPG, Guild Wars. Eschewing monthly fees and making a point of not featuring quests that are better left to the Fed-Ex people, game servers officially went live as of 08:00 GMT this morning.

Weâre currently finding our feet in the world of Guild Wars, however first impressions are certainly good for those looking towards an alternative for WoW.

Weâll have a review of the title soon.

GW has the best PvP system and game mechanics. GW GvG >PvP in every other game. WoW PvE may be more entertaining to some grind-lovers.

I've just ordered the game, and it was £10, if i think its really good i'll get Nightfall in a couple of months too yeeeeeeeeey!

guild wars is by far the best of all the games free or not but factions sucks and nightfall isnt as good as wow if they do release eye of the north i would pay $80 for it

Yes Guild Wars is probably the best FREE MMORPG out there right now i would strongly suggest it for people who dont want to pay each month :P beside it has a good storey line and pretty long good game

If they make it so that we have to pay to play, they will loose TONS of business!
What makes Guildwars so unique is the free online play, and taking that away would be like putting guildwars down. Rusty syringe and all!
