Green Light For KillZone2 News

American reports suggest that Guerrilla Games will be working on a sequel; despite the first title still being some way off…

Despite the fact that development has yet to be completed on SCEEâs eagerly awaited Playstation2 title, KillZone, IGN is today reporting that a sequel has been given the green light.

Itâs suggested that the sequel wonât be released on the Playstation3, hinting that we will either see it as one of the last key titles for the Playstation2 or perhaps making an appearance on the Sony PSP.

On the other hand this could be purely speculation as no official comment has yet been made from SCEE; as always we suggest waiting until at least the first game is out before taking a sequel for granted.

With more grounding in fact comes news that KillZone is currently undergoing a network beta-test in the US, with numerous details on the online aspect coming to life.

The game will support a variety of online modes, including DeathMatch, Team DeathMatch, Assault, Defend and Destroy, Supply Drop and Domination. In addition the game will also support the inclusion of bots to make up numbers; whilst multiplayer levels confirmed so far include Rain Forest, Park Terminal and Beachhead.

Further details reveal that the player will only be able to carry 3 weapons at any stage, whilst the human weapons are generally more accurate and precise then the more powerful Helghast weapons. So far weâve seen close to 20 weapons, ranging from combat knifes to rocket launchers, with the team at Guerrilla keen to base these entirely on real-world weaponry.

Weâll have more information soon.

Why does everyone rage about this game? I didn't find it all that fun... maybe it's just not for me. I don't suggest it to players though. :/
