Sony announce that the 2004 edition of GT4 will be offline, with an online version arriving next year…
After being delayed for over 12 months, Sony has announced that the next literally long-awaited instalment in the Gran Turismo franchise will beâ¦offline. Whilst the version of the game that will be released this side of Christmas (December 3rd in Japan, and 14th December in Europe) will be offline, Sony are planning to release an online version in 2005. Confirmation of a North American release has not yet been givenâ¦
Compensating for this lack of online functionality, Producer Kazunori Yamauchi announced that GT4 will have a new game mode called B-Spec Mode. Details of this new mode are scarce at the moment, but it appears that it may be a more general control system whereby players will direct a computer AI controlled car and direct it through various decisions through the race in real timeâ¦I guess that time will tell, and weâll just have to wait for details of the B-spec mode to come from the horseâs mouth, sometime in the future.
