Gran Turismo 4 EU Release Delayed News

TVG receives confirmation from SCEE that the European release of the much anticipated GT4 has been delayed…

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today confirmed to TVG that Grand Turismo 4 is to be delayed in Europe until 2005. In a statement to TVG, an SCEE spokesperson confirmed:

"â¦GT4 will now be released in Q1 2005 for Europe. The localisation of GT4 across the PAL territories is a huge undertaking because the product is localised into 13 different languages across the PAL territories, therefore the process takes considerably longer than it does in Japan. The GT brand strives for perfection, therefore we need to ensure that the localisation and testing of the product is done to the highest possible standard."

Having already been delayed by more than 12 months, fans of the series across the continent will have to be content with either purchasing the recently released GT4: Prologue title or importing a copy of GT4 from Japan (due for release in early December), at least until the festivities have passed and 2005 arrives â“ along with the European version of GT4, of course.

At the moment, we are still unsure as to whether the European version of the game will carry the online content that was promised for a 2005 re-release of GT4 or not, but weâll keep tabs on the situation as we get closer to the PAL release.

Weâll have more on the continuing escapades of GT4 shortlyâ¦
