Atari confirms a return on Wii, DS and PSP for the oversized lizard...

He may be over 200ft tall and have atomic breath, but that hasn't helped Godzilla attempts to star in, at least a half-decent, videogame adaptation for quite some time. Still, undeterred, Atari today confirmed that another title is currently in development for the Wii, DS and PSP.

Dubbed Godzilla: Unleashed, the game promises to carry on in the same line as "Destroy All Monsters" and "Save the City", by presenting a fighting game on a grand scale - it's a shame, we really thought they might have tried a go-kart sim this time around! Clawing, kicking, stomping and throwing their way to become the 'King of the Monsters', Godzilla: Unleashed claims to feature a non-linear storyline, which players will be able to influence with their choices in the battles.

"The iconic Japanese giant goes from strength to strength, taking the franchise in new directions not least with the unprecedented dynamic control afforded by the unique Wii controller," said Cyril Voiron, Marketing Director, Atari Europe. "With multiple story paths, players can choose exactly how they want to release the beast within and wreak their own brand of spectacular urban devastation."
