UK trade magazine confirms the cancellation of consumer event, citing lack of support from Sony, Microsoft and EA...
Despite getting off to a good start last year with the introduction of Game Stars Live and EGN consumer and trade events respectively, doubt was today thrown upon the whole set-up as UK trade magazine MCV confirmed that its successor Game Zone Live has been cancelled.
Originally planned to make a return to ExCeL and the London Docklands during September, itās claimed that a lack of support from Sony, Microsoft and the refusal of EA to match last yearās expenditure of £1 million is behind the decision.
ELSPA won many people over with the concurrent events of Game Stars Live and EGN, however itās doubtful whether a trade-only event can be as successful in the absence of consumers to drive interest and media attention.
