Ubisoft confirms development has finished and releases a new trailer showing the game in action...
Whilst console owners have enjoyed Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter in varying degrees of quality, PC owners have had a little while to wait as Red storm Entertainment and Ubisoft Montreal toil away on a version unique to the format.
However that wait comes to an end, as today Ubisoft confirmed that the title has gone gold and will be winging its way to retailers on May 5th. To celebrate we've got hold of a new trailer and the first details on the unique multiplayer mode set to feature in the game.
Providing support for up to four player co-op, GRAW on the PC finds one player taking the lead and issuing commands via the HUD, which other players will see as waypoints on their maps. The system removes the need for microphones to communicate within the game, and provides the same elaborate level of tactical command as seen in the single-player campaign.
Further multiplayer modes include Domination and Deathmatch, the latter of which will arrive in an update in the not-too distant future. Domination finds a map divided into zones, each connected by supply lines. Starting at the ends of the map, teams must fight to gain control of each zone to establish supply lines and receive new equipment in the process.
Multiplayer on the PC promises to offer a significantly different experience to that on the consoles, with maps twice the size of those found on the consoles and support for up to 32 players in Domination and Deathmatch modes.
Finally Ubisoft has revealed the specification needed to run the game as:
- 2 GHz Pentium 4 (or equivalent)
- 1GB RAM
- 5GB HDD Space
- Nvidia GeForce 6/7 or ATi Radeon 9600-9800/x
Look out for more on GRAW soon.
