Konami releases further details on its first title for the Wii...

Despite the continued lack of an official title, Konami will demonstrate its first title for the Nintendo Wii at the Leipzig Games Convention. Making its first appearance earlier in the year at E3'06, Konami has revealed further details on the game currently known as Elebits.

Using the Wii remote to search and capture small, mischievous creatures known as Elebits, the game is set in a world where there are no such things as coal, gas or nuclear power; instead the tiny Elebits have been the sole source of power for the past 10,000 years.

With many breeds of Elebits, each with their own unique look and personality, the creatures love nothing more (besides powering a light bulb) then causing trouble for their co-habiting humans. So players must track them down and put an end to their mischief.

Using the Wii remote as a futuristic device, players can interact with the environment in many ways, pushing, pulling, lifting and throwing away anything they come across to discover the hidden Elebits and obstruct their escape routes. As more and more Elebits are discovered the area gets increasingly illuminated, with lights gradually coming on and power restored.

Encouraging players to determine their own strategies, Elebits allows gamers to utilise a wide number of techniques from the open play system, whether that's sneaking up on them or creating enough noise to scare them out of their hiding places.

Elebits will also feature a two-player mode allowing gamers to compete or co-operate in the hunt for the tiny little creatures; look out for more soon.
