LucasArts release the first screens and information on the eagerly awaited sequel...
Having been one of the titles that LucasArts initially talked about at last years E3, it's taken quite awhile for new information to surface on the sequel to one of the most popular titles of the 90's. Point 'n' Click fans will fondly remember 'Full Throttle', coming in the latter stages of LucasArts glory days in the genre it represented all of the finest things that point 'n' click had to offer.
Full Throttle: Hell On Wheels sees players returning as the gritty and sarcastic biker named Ben as he travels to seedy bars, greesy truck stops and desert highways on a quest for cold beer, cheap motorcycle parts and the honest truth. Wisely recognising that Point 'n' Clicks have had thier day like many fine genres the action has moved to a predicatable third-person action/adventure title, which sees Ben as the leader of a renegade motorcycle gang known as the polecats, seek to find out who is behind the destruction of his much loved highways and byways around his old stomping ground of El Nada.
LucasArts are maintaining that they've paid upmost respect to the game's history and claim that the sequel will include the same mix of puzzles, action and comedy that ensured the original became a favourite amongst PC owners across the globe. The gameplay is said to compose of a balence of traditional third-person combat, motorcylce racing and brain-taxing puzzles; whilst interacting with the cast of over 50 charasmatic characters complete with witty dialogue and hints to help you on your adventure.
We can't wait to check this one out in action at E3, but until then make sure to check out the first screens and artwork released from the Playstation2 version.
Full Throttle: Heel on Wheels is scheduled for release on the Playstation2, Xbox and PC later in the year.
