By Gwynne Dixon on 07/04/2008 Pseudo Interactive closes down following Eidos' cancellation of an unnamed project at the studio...Pseudo Interactive, which most famously developed the Full Auto series of racing games, has gone out of business. The Toronto based company started experiencing financial difficulties when an unnamed project that they working on for Eidos was cancelled by the publisher.
While Pseudo Interactive did develop Cel Damage for last-gen consoles in 2001, it is the Full Auto series that the developer is most well known for. With the original Full Auto on Xbox 360 in 2006, and then the sequel for PlayStation 3 last year, the studio had established itself as a firm next-gen developer.
Eidos, and parent company SCi, were forced to cut a list of projects recently due to continuing financial difficulties. Unfortunately, one of these projects was under development at Pseudo Interactive and the studio never recovered from this setback.
The studio employed over 50 people at one point, although the developer was forced to make drastic cutbacks when Eidos cancelled the unnamed project that was under development at the studio.
