Five Million Connect With Nintendo Wi-Fi News

Nintendo confirm the latest raft of facts and figures about their online service...

Nintendo has today announced that over five million DS users have logged onto Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection worldwide, clocking up over 200 million hours of gameplay between them.

Animal Cross: Wild World, Mario Kart DS, and Metroid Prime Hunters are just three of the most popular games played across the free service. The first Wii title to utilise online multiplayer, Mario Strikers Charged, launched across Europe on May 25th.

"Nintendo DS gamers globally use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection as an easy, fun place to find fellow players, all without paying anything extra for the service," explains Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "The milestones represent millions of hours of fun and camaraderie despite miles between players."

i have a ds lite, which seems more of a toy than the psp the games are for the older gamer. oh yes I Hate mario he sucks

I play pirated DS ROMs and I don't live in the US - and I know of at least one other person who does.

Right i will try 2 answer some of the questions! You don't need 2 of the same games to interact just put 1 on download play on the main screen and you just go on the bit u want 2 download on the other 1! You can play gameboy advanced games on the ds ... [ Read full comment... ]

spectrobes = awful

most games you can play like a bare bones version with just one copy and 2/3 DS's, some you need a copy of the game each. like mariokart has a few courses and only one character for each person if you're sharing a catridge, but ... [ Read full comment... ]
