Square release the first nugget of information alongside the first artwork...
Weāre hardly into the New Year, however Square took the opportunity to make the first major announcement, with some eagerly awaited details on Final Fantasy XII. Unlike the previous Final Fantasy title, Final Fantasy XII will be a strictly offline affair for the Playstation2. Inside sources are already claiming that this title marks a return to the splendour of Final Fantasy VII, in fact a quick look at the team reveals that Jun Akiyama leads the team after working in a similar role on Final Fantasy VII. Other team members include Akihoko Yoshida, who has previously worked on Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story; along with Hideo Minaba ā“ the art director whose projects have included Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy IX.
Elsewhere Square remained tight-lipped; itās claimed that the title would be released in Japan during this year however we've got our doubts.
Weāll do our best to locate more information, but in the meantime make sure to check out the first official artwork from the title.
