Final Fantasy X meets Square`s sales expectations, first PS2 game to shift 4 million.
Square has announced that they have shipped over 4 million copies of Final Fantasy X worldwide. The game has sold approximately 2.48 million units in Japan, 1.3 million has been shipped in North America. The total sales of the Final Fantasy series has reached 38 million worldwide.
Final Fantasy X is the first PS2 game to seel 4 million copies, however Square are still expected to post a post a loss of $133 million for the fiscal year ending March 2002, due to costs associated with creating Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.
