New information and screens regarding the communication, quest and job system.


Square have recently released information about the communication system and
other aspects in Final Fantasy XI. 


Quest - You can enter an event or side quest by talking with people (NPC) in
the town. When you accomplished a quest, not only you will receive rewards, but
you can also obtain hints concerning the game. Even if a quest is not completed,
it will not affect the main story, there are no limitation on the number of
undertaking quests. You can check your list of quests in the main menu.


Here are some example of NPCs in each country:



The Republic of Bastok

* Cornelia - she is trying to get out of the town but was stopped by the town
guards

* Nicadio - he is one of the guard who stopped Cornelia from going out, he
will give player various advises

* Tiger Tooth - the second town guard

The Kingdom of San D'oria

* Avandale - he thinks you are a new face, so he will give you various advises

* Trion - the Royal family's eldest son, he thinks his younger brother is
sarcastic.

* Pieuje - the younger brother of Trion. He has different point of views from
his elder brother.

* Claidie - younger sister of both Trion and Pieuje, who worries about the
conflicts between her brothers

The Federation of Windurst

* Ajido-Marujido - a tartare man who mutters about an important information of
the evil

* Apururu - younger sister of Ajido, who is embarrass by her elder brother

In the game, you can learn magic spells by purchasing magic scrolls in the
shops. However, even if you have the scrolls, if you do not meet the
requirements you still cannot use learn the spell.


There are many types of conversations in the game, each kind is listed in
different color:


  • Say - white
  • Shout - red
  • Tell - purple
  • Party - blue (conversation for party members only)
  • Link Shell - italic


You can input speeches with the USB keyboard. It is also possible to express
your feelings with additional commands. When you enter the following feeling
expression commands in the input window, the character will express the emotion
with facial expression, gesture or action.

There is a skill system in the game. The weapon and magic
have skill levels, the level increases when you use them a lot, which results in
an increase in accuracy, offensive / defensive power and the rate of evasion.

During the game, you can change your job at the Mog House. Inside the Mog
House, a new command Job Change is displayed, initially you can
freely change the 6 basic jobs. It is possible to create character like
"Monk with the ability of Black mage". If you want to change to a more
advanced job, you have to wait until your job level is increased. Certain jobs
would require you to first accomplished a certain number or specific quests.


You can also rest in the Mog House, there are usually a Mog Houses in the
residential district in each country.
