What all Square-Enix fans wanted to hear, they're developing a side-story to the PSOne classic...
Alongside brining us the first look at âKingdom Hearts 2: Chain of Memoriesâ, V-Jump the respected Japanese videogame magazine brought us the news that all Final Fantasy fans have wanted to hear.
The latest issue brings confirmation and the first screens of Square-Enix remake of the classic âFinal Fantasy VIIâ.
Scheduled for release in 2004 and complete with a DVD chronicling the story of Final Fantasy, itâs currently unknown whether the game is a re-make or a side-story in a similar vein to âfinal Fantasy X2â. Whispers from Japan currently suggest the game takes place two years after the events of the PSOne classic which would suggest the latter, however it looks like weâll have to wait until the Tokyo Game Show to get the definitive word on this.

Worryingly we've heard suggestions that claim 'Advent Children' will be merely a DVD of CG scenes, telling the story of what happened to Cloud and his cohorts two years after saving the planet from Sephiroth and Meteor.
We'll do our best to uncover some facts from Square-Enix; maybe it's not time to get too excited just of yet...
