Final Fantasy Saga Starts On PSP News

The first two games from the legendary RPG series will be available on PSP early in 2008...

Following in the footsteps of handheld Nintendo consoles such as the Gameboy Advance and DS, European PSPs are soon to be graced by the iconic RPG gameplay of the original games in the Final Fantasy series. It's all part of Square Enix's 20th Anniversary celebrations for the FF series.

Final Fantasy I and II on PSP are due to hit European shop shelves early next year, with a menagerie of re-mastered visuals from the character art, to new 16:9 widescreen visuals and an updated in-game camera. What's more, FF obsessed gamers will be granted the pleasure of traipsing through a range of new dungeons for these first two timeless FF games.

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments, "Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II are the foundations of the Square Enix success story. They are the first two steps in the long and distinguished history of the Final Fantasy franchise. With these beautiful new versions, fans can now experience the origins of Final Fantasy wherever they go."

As is often the case with many Japanese titles, Europe seem to be the last major territory to get in on the fun, as both Final Fantasy PSP games were released in Japan and the US earlier this year.
