April and May respectively for the PSP bound remakes, but still no word on whether they'll be released outside of Japan...

Two weeks after announcing their development, Square-Enix has revealed the Japanese release dates for the anniversary editions of Final Fantasy I and II.

Set for release on PSP, the first title will be hitting stores across the territory on April 19th, a matter of days before Japan gets a further dose of Final Fantasy with the release launch of Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings on Nintendo DS. The second anniversary release will be launched towards the end of May, and both editions will be released for a budget price of 3,990 Yen (around £17) each.

Meanwhile, Final Fantasy fans in the West are yet to hear whether the two titles will be released outside of Japan. A double dose of the franchise will be arriving shortly however, with European fans of the series finally getting to grips with Final Fantasy XII at the end of February, with the DS remake of Final Fantasy III set to follow later in the spring.
