Atari set to publish Quantic Dream’s Fahrenheit for the PlayStation2 and Xbox…
An ongoing saga may at last be close to concluding today as the long, LONG awaited Fahrenheit has secured a new publisher. The game, which was originally on the books of Vivendi-Universal, is to be published by Atari in September 2005.
The game has been in development for a few years now and was originally created back in the days of the Dreamcast as an ongoing development where new âchaptersâ would become available to download like a TV series. This feature has now been dropped but it still promises to offer a very intriguing storyline and gameplay style. The title has been delayed on several occasions, but hopefully the new Autumn 2005 release date will be met.
Commenting on the game, Martin Spiess, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Atari Europe said, "Fahrenheit represents a real milestone in the development of video gaming and the adventure genre, with genuinely innovative design and a chilling atmosphere to match that of some of the most successful big screen psychological thrillersâ¦Quantic Dream have created a game where the tension seeps from the screen into the mind, guaranteeing no shortage of emotional investment from the player. A powerful connection is created between the player and the action on-screen, where every turn and every micro-decision has serious consequences."
Incidentally the gameâs official website has now been launched, and weâll also be having a chat with the Fahrenheit development team very shortly.
