FFXI Festival Gets Underway News

Square Enix throws a Harvest Festival in Vana’diel to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of FFXI…

TVG was today contacted by Square Enix and told us about the Harvest Festival that is currently underway throughout the three nations of San d'Oria, Windurst, and Bastok. The festival started on Saturday 23rd and will last until 7am (GMT) on November 1st.

A lot of the NPCs in the game will be dressed up for the event, and they will expect a treatâ¦just donât overload them with the same kind of treat. If you do reward them for their effort, they may just turn you into a monster so you can terrorise the neighbour! Be warned though, because during your time masquerading as an altered beast, you will be unable to use items or cast any magic.

The effect can be cancelled whenever you wish, and it will also be removed if you move into a different area, but you may just want to go around scaring the locals for a little time first.

Some of the population in Vanaâdiel are getting very excited about the festival. We talked to one kid about the festival who said, "Ooooh, I'm gonna gather so many treats this year! I wonder what I should do to the adventurer who gives me smelly faerie apples instead of some real goodies ... Hee-hee-hee..."

Get your costume on, load up on eggs, and have some fun during the Harvest Festival this year in Vanaâdel!
