Euro Xbox 360 Day One List Confirmed News
Jon Wilcox
14/11/2005

Microsoft get their 15 launch day titles (just) but there`s only slim pickings where the true next-gen titles are concerned...
Microsoft has today revealed the launch line-up for Xbox 360 in Europe when the console arrives in the territory on December 2nd. For those of you expecting some surprise games making the list, forget it, this is very much what was expected:
- Amped 3 (2K Sports)
- Call of Duty 2 (Activision)
- Condemned: Criminal Origins (SEGA)
- FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup (Electronic Arts)
- GUN (Activision)
- Kameo: Elements of Power (Microsoft Game Studios)
- Perfect Dark Zero (Microsoft Game Studios)
- Peter Jacksonâs King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (Ubisoft)
- Madden NFL 06 (Electronic Arts)
- NBA Live 06 (Electronic Arts)
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted (Electronic Arts)
- Project Gotham Racing 3 (Microsoft Game Studios)
- Quake 4 (Activision, id software and Raven Software Corp.)
- Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06 (Electronic Arts)
- Tony Hawkâs American Wasteland (Activision)
Whatâs perhaps more disappointing are the lack of literally ânext-generationâ games on offer. GUN, Tony Hawkâs, Most Wanted, and King Kong are all available on the current set of consoles, Call of Duty 2 and Quake IV are on PC and there will very few people on this side of the pond excited about Madden 06 or NBA 06. Looking at the list itâs hard to imagine more than three games really standing out as fulfilling the potential of next-gen: Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Perfect Dark Zero. God bless the British developersâ¦
The announcement from Microsoft also confirms that Ridge Racer 6, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Dead or Alive 4 will follow in subsequent weeks though exact release dates are yet to be provided.
Microsoft has also announced that 13 accessories for Xbox 360 will be released on December 2nd:
- Xbox 360 Hard Drive (20 GB)
- Xbox 360 Memory Unit (64 MB)
- Xbox 360 Faceplate
- Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
- Xbox 360 Controller
- Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit
- Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack
- Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter
- Xbox 360 Headset
- Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote
- Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable
- Xbox 360 Advanced AV Cable
- Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable
Four faceplates will be available at launch: âSilverâ, âHot Rodâ, âSunâ and âWoodyâ will more to follow though the real surprise is the real lack of variety at launch.
Day One launch line-up on the Xbox Live Arcade will see around a dozen titles available including Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved from Bizarre Creations and retro titles such as Midwayâs Gauntlet. Xbox Live Gold membership will be available without a credit card with 12-month cards at £39.99, 3-month cards at £14.99 or Marketplace Points Cards for £17.99.
Weâll have more on Xbox 360 shortlyâ¦
