Euro PSP Launch Date And Price Rumours News

Amazon.de and the UK's BBC Radio 1 suggest the release date and price for the PSP in Europe...

With Europe once again left in the cold regarding new console hardware (this time the PSP), it's left to various sources to report on any little snippets of information about when Sony's handheld will be debuting on European shores and how much the device is actually going to cost.

Whilst it doesn't suggest an actual release date, the German offshoot of Amazon is currently recommending a price of 329 Euros (£224), which seems more than a little steep given that you can import the units for 218 Euros (£149) directly from the Far East. Over on this side of the Channel however, Jo Whiley's show on BBC Radio 1, reported that the PSP would be released on June 3rd 2005 for 294 Euros (£199), although as you'd expect Sony has not confirmed whether either of the sources were correct.

Rumours and hearsay are flying around the web at the moment as everybody tries to second guess Sony with a range of release dates suggested from early June through to December 2005, but still the company is refraining from making a formal announcement. The news come just days after Chris Deering President Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) expects an announcement to be made within the next few weeks (possibly at E3.)

lol an 80 gb psp is not possible unless they use ssd hard drives which cost sh*t loads to buy independantly maybe you should get used to dreaming, though if they stop making any games for it or make a psp that could only get games from the ps3 then y... [ Read full comment... ]

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
