Epic Shoots Down Gears of War 2 Rumours News

It's all nonsense according to Epic Games' Mark Rein; we'll have to wait a couple of weeks...
TVG readers forgive us for a second if we remind you about not getting too excited over the appearance of Gears of War 2 on the latest issue of GamePro. Despite mounting speculation, Epic's Mark Rein recently shot down rumours of the sequel on the official Gears of War forums, posting:
"It is complete nonsense. We have not announced a sequel to Gears of War to Gamepro or anyone else for that matter."
All of that said, we still think Gears of War 2 is on the Epic horizon. What other title has Microsoft got to hold off the increasing threat of the PlayStation3 (even if they don't own the IP, but presumably pay Epic a gazillion bucks), and if Epic do plan to have the trilogy on one format then surely a two-year gap between titles has to be maintained.
