Epic Breaks Silence On Silicon Knights News

A counter lawsuit is launched against the Too Human development team...


The argument over Silicon Knights' troubles with Unreal Engine 3 has moved forward, with UE3 creators Epic Games launching their own counter lawsuit against the studio.

Silicon Knights' original claim is that "[Epic Games] never intended to deliver Unreal Engine 3 as a fully functional game engine as promised." However Epic's lawsuit, obtained by US-based Next-Gen from US District Court in North Carolina, counters Silicon Knights, stating that "...the plain language of the Silicon Knights' complaint makes clear that Silicon Knights wants to take Epic's licensed technology [UE3], pay nothing for it, and use it any way it pleases."

Furthermore, Epic claims copyright infringement from Silicon Knights, with code from Unreal Engine 3 being planned for use in the 'Silicon Knights Engine'. The Gears of War creator is claiming damages, copyright infringement, and compensation - so far in excess of $650,000.

It certainly looks like this legal entanglement is set to continue for some time...

Just bought this game and its so repetative. Online is the same as being offline apart from you get to speak to someone. £35 down the drain

I can say it was a let down. Im quite sure I did in m last comment. I thought diablo was a good game but this just wasnt up to scratch considering it was in the making for 10 years lol

you cant say the demo was a let down nore is the game, rent it from your local video store and try out the full game you wont be dissapointed unless your not a fan of diablo you wont understand theres more to it than just killing every thing in sight

Downloaded and played the demo and I was really let down. This game really doesnt special in anyway at all. Looks like the game had been in the making for 10 days not 10 years. Might be wrong about the full version but going off the demo id rather ea... [ Read full comment... ]

why wait 10 days to play it the demo is on xbmarket place just play the demo, if you like it buy it though i wouldnt use a 10 day delay as an excuse not to buy it.

This sounds awesome, can't believe I've got to wait another week :(
