Europe to get Quake Wars days before North America; no word on when the game will hit consoles....


At this weekend's QuakeCon 2007 in Dallas Texas, id Software and Activision confirmed both North American and European release dates for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars on PC.

The game, which is also being developed for Xbox 360 (Nerve Software) and PlayStation3 (Activision Foster City, formerly Z-Axis), will launch across Europe from September 28th, with North America following a few days later on October 2nd. id is yet to reveal even a broad release period for the console editions of the game.

In development at Splash Damage, Quake Wars sees players take to the battlefield as the Global Defence Force fights back the Strogg invasion in the year 2065.

I have been playing the demo a lot, and it is very good. I think that keeping the graphics high and destructable terrain out has opened it up to people who dont have the highest spec machines. It is much more engaging than the BF series, everything f... [ Read full comment... ]
