UK developer confirms that a sequel to Evil Genius is in the works, as well as confirming $1 million investment – plus the odd redundancy…
Elixir Studios have today confirmed that they are to lose 15 members of staff through an internal reshuffle at their North London offices. The news comes as the company announces that it has managed to raise $1 million from their current investors.
Announcing the investment, Elixir CEO Mark Hewitt commented that, "We are very pleased to have closed our planned fund raising and to have the full backing of our shareholdersâ¦As a company, we are really focused on forging ahead and completing our next title, which is an extremely exciting and innovative game, with a great publisher, as well as seeing our other plans come to fruition."
The company has also confirmed that a sequel to Evil Genius is currently in development, as well working on an original IP for the next-generation consoles. The company has recently confirmed that they are currently producing a title for a US publisher, which they hope will be released at some point during 2006.
