Oblivion is a single-player game that takes place in Tamriel's capital province, Cyrodiil. You are given the task of finding the hidden heir to a throne that sits empty, the previous emperor having been killed by an unknown assassin. With no true Emperor, the gates to Oblivion (the equivalent of hell in the world of Tamriel) open, and demons begin to invade Cyrodiil and attack its people and towns. It's up to you to find the lost heir to the throne and unravel the sinister plot that threatens to destroy all of Tamriel.

Bethesda Softworks confirm the development of Elder Scrolls IV for next-gen consoles and the PC…


Bethesda Softworks today confirmed the development of the latest chapter in its monumental Elder Scrolls RPG series.

Currently in development for next-gen consoles and the PC, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is set to extend the trademark free-roaming qualities of the series, whilst delivering a state-of-the-art graphics engine, guaranteed to make Oblivion one of the finest looking RPGās in existence.

Initial reports suggest that the game will be set in the capital location of Tamriel, whilst Bethesda is apparently keen to open up the experience to newcomers alongside the loyal fanbase.

Game Informer has blown open the title in their latest issue on sale in the US; TVG will have more details as they become available.

all of you people that say its not working becasue a quest pop up wont come thats not important its a minor script problem all you do is go to the island og near the bravil in niban bay and whenn your there you can get the quest message and the game... [ Read full comment... ]

im having the same problem as every1 elss iv got the knights of the nine and shivering isles but no profit no gate even after literaly 1000 hours in every city every part of the imperial city too im giving up! (even after the upgrade to oblivion 1.2)
