Eidos Weighing Up Its Options News

24 hours after the double offer, the UK publisher decides to consider its options...
In what has been a somewhat hectic 24 hours for the Board of British publisher Eidos following the takeover bids of rival publisher SCi Games and Elevation Partners fronted by U2âs Bono, the company has announced that it is yet to make a final decision.
In a statement released today Eidos said, âThe Board will consider the Share Offer in the light of its other alternatives, including the recommended cash offer of 50 pence per share by EM Holding Corp., a company backed by Elevation Partners. A further announcement will be made in due course.â
After pouring over the paperwork surrounding the bids yesterday, we can understand why the Eidos Board want to take their time to weigh up their options, especially since the action may trigger a bidding war â“ surely that is the hope of both the Board and the companyâs shareholders.
