Rico making a return to the next-gen consoles and PC later in the year...
Previously announced by the game's developers Avalanche Studios way back in 2006 (and almost a year ago by SCi Games), Eidos today re-announced the development of Just Cause 2.
Marking the return of Rico Rodriguez (albeit with significant cosmetic changes), Just Cause 2 switches the action to the South East Asian islands of Panau and promises more stunts, vehicles, and weapons than ever before.
With over 1000 sq km to explore, different climates and ultra realistic weather effects, Just Cause 2 continues the thrill-seeking escapades of the original, whether it's skydiving from 10,000 feet, tearing across an arid desert in a dune buggy, or climbing up a snowy mountain in a 4x4.
Just Cause 2 introduces a new and improved stunt system taken to extreme levels, along with an enhanced handling system for the various vehicles featured in the game.
"Remember everything you loved about Just Cause, then take it to the next level: vehicles, stunts, weapons, freedom, grappling hook, action, everything," said Alex Price, Brand Manager. "The game world is even more incredible in Just Cause 2 and Rico has done a bit of growing up, so expect quite a few new surprises up his sleeves."
Just Cause 2 is scheduled for a release during 2008 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and PC.
