Eidos announce two new Hip Hop themed Playstation2 titles…
Backing up earlier suggestions of a Hip Hop themed game, Eidos today revealed the first details on Get On Da Mic and Get On Da Floor.
In an agreement with Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M) and HighWay1 Productions, Inc (Hwy1), both gamers are currently in development for the Playstation2 and scheduled for release in autumn 2004 and spring 2005 respectively.
Claiming to âallow you to live the fantasy of rap stardom, embracing the famous excesses of the Hip Hop lifestyle along the wayâ (bling bling accessories sold separately); players use the USB headset to wow the crowds with your âdopeâ rapping style as you go from the streets, to playing in âda clubsâ, recording at the studio, shooting your own video and finally playing before thousands of fans in order to acquire the fantastic material wealth that comes from success.
Eidos have yet to release any information from On Da Floor, however our initial suspicion is that this will be a Hip Hop influenced dance/rhythm title; either way weâll have more details on this title soon.
Paul Baldwin, vice president of marketing for Eidos North America says:
âGet On Da Mic immerses players in the alluring world of becoming a hip hop celebrity. A2M has secured one of the most robust music soundtracks available in any music game featuring over 40 tracks. The game also boasts a non-confining freestyle mode allowing players to show off their lyrical skills.â
Remi Racine, president and chief executive officer of A2M says:
âA2M has found an ideal partner in Eidos, whose expertise in bringing cutting-edge titles to market will truly benefit Get On Da Mic.â
Michael Betti, co-founder of Hwy1 Productions says:
