Kane & Lynch will be Dead Men on PlayStation3 as well as Xbox 360 and PC; Crossfire arriving on the platform in 2008...
Having confirmed Crossfire and Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for Xbox 360 and PC back in 2006, Eidos has today announced that both titles will be making an appearance on PlayStation3.
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, which is being developed by IO "Hitman" Interactive, has been pushed into a pre-Christmas release, with Pivotal's Crossfire (the next instalment in the Conflict series) set for launch in early 2008. Whilst the strategy of launching both titles simultaneously across the three platforms is seen by Eidos as the most effective way to launch the franchises into the next-generation, the UK-based publisher has confirmed that it will have a knock-on effect on its financial results. Both titles were due to launch on Xbox 360 and PC in the current fiscal year, which ends in June. Eidos puts the cost of the delay at around £6 million.
So what at they resting their hopes for the last two months of the fiscal year? Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
Eidos has also confirmed that they're in advanced negotiations to license the movie rights for Kane & Lynch: Dead Men; reports emerged back in February that the producers of the upcoming adaptation of Hitman had signed the deal - Eidos are yet to reveal who they're in negotiations with.
