British publisher Eidos today announced that they have struck a deal with Avalanche Studios. The Swedish developers are already in the process of creating their first title for Eidos, called Just Cause, set to be released next year for Xbox, PS2, and PC.
Announcing the deal, Martin Alltimes, Head of European External Development at Eidos, said, "Avalanche Studios offers a great fit to Eidosâ product strategy of developing original content utilising ground-breaking technology. Building on the excellent work to date, I am confident this relationship will produce an exceptional game.â
Christofer Sundberg, Director of Avalanche, said, "We are very proud to be part of the Eidos developer network. Eidos is a strong and ambitious publisher with a long history of releasing AAA titles and making blockbusters out of original content. Our ambition is to build a long term relationship with our publishing partner, and Eidos has already proven to be an excellent choice.â
Some of the staff at Avalanche, which was established in 2003, have previously worked on the Battlefield series, as well as the Chronicles of Riddick game, so we wait with baited breath on more details of Just Cause.
