EA – Playstation3 More Powerful Than Xbox2 !!! News

Commenting to BBC News, EA Europe General Manager suggests that the Playstation3 will have “a little more under the hood”...
In a wonderfully vague look at what the next-generation may bring, BBC News has recently published an article looking ahead to the release of the Playstation 3, Xbox 2 and the Nintendo Revolution.
Despite featuring a distinct lack of concrete information, the report does throw up a few interesting points, such as confirming that Electronic Arts have received development kits from Microsoft but not Sony or Nintendo.
However perhaps the most intriguing aspect comes from a quote made by Rory Armes, Studio General Manager Electronic Arts Europe, who claims "The rumours are that PlayStation 3 will have a little more under the hood [than Xbox 2]," adding "Microsoft is obviously a software company first and foremost, while Sony has more experience in hardware. I think Sony will be able to push more into a box at cost."
Bizarrely, but as seems to be the case at the moment, very little mention was made of the Nintendo Revolution, which has already seen some dismiss the new format before itâs even had a chance to shine â“ we personally feel itâs down to the fact that Nintendo are deliberately keeping quiet on the revolutions they have planned and wonât let the cat out of the bag until theyâre good and ready.
Once again harping on about how the next-generation will continue to blur the lines between films and videogames, perhaps the most intelligent quote came from Armes, suggesting that developers still had a lot to learn about how to tell stories effectively in the videogame medium, "In some ways we are trying to forget about the hardware, go in the opposite direction. We have been very bad at letting technology design our creativity,â wisely adding âWhat we have to do as a company is start ignoring the technology and learning our craft in telling stories."
