Having resurrected the iconic RTS franchise on both PC and Xbox 360, Electronic Arts appear to be working another spin-off First Person Shooter of Command & Conquer, entitled Tiberium.
Word of the production has emerged online following the appearance of two photos (said to be taken of Game Informer's January 2008 issue), together with outline details of the FPS. EA has previously experimented with taking the C&C franchise into the first person perspective in the past, with the 2002 release of Command & Conquer: Renegade.
Described on gaming blog VideoGamesBlogger as taking place eleven years after the events of Command & Conquer 3, Tiberium will apparently see players follow former GDI soldier Ricardo Vega in a fight against the Scrin. According to the report, the gameplay will be a heady mix of GRAW, Rainbow Six, and Battlefield, as Vega leads a team of R.A.I.D (Rapid Assault and Intercept Deployment) forces around a Mediterranean Red Zone.
There's no word from EA on Tiberium just yet but following the appearance of the photos, expect confirmation to come within the next few weeks.
