EA Tables New Take Two Offer News

In spite of the results from Take Two Interactive shareholders meeting, Electronic Arts extends their deadline...
Electronic Arts has tabled a new offer to Take Two Interactive's shareholders, in light of T2's meeting late yesterday. The publisher has also announced that it's extending the deadline for Take Two shareholders to consider their position to May 16th.
Additionally, EA's offer has been reduced to $25.74, reflecting the issuing of shares to Zelnick Media, although the total proposal remains at $2 billion.
At the Annual General Meeting held last night, Take Two Interactive's shareholders backed Chairman, Strauss Zelnick, re-electing him and the rest of the company's board of directors - a strong signal to EA.
With the juggernaut of GTA IV now just eleven days out, it seems that EA has given up on its chance to acquire the publisher and benefit from the immediate spoils. Just don't expect it to be the end of the matter.
