EA Release Premium Godfather Content On Marketplace News

New clothes, top level guns, and in-game money for The Godfather all available on Marketplace...

Electronic Arts has today released a wide set of downloadable content for The Godfather on Xbox 360. Besides the 'Mobface Apparel Bundle' (five new items including two hats and a leather jacket), which is available for free, the content includes the 'Level 4 Revolver - Black Widow' (100 Microsoft Points), which allows players the ability to purchase the most powerful revolver in the game, and the option to purchase more in-game money in denominations of $50,000, $100,000, and $250,000 (40, 75, and 150 Microsoft Points respectively).

Other weapons can also be unlocked including the Level 4 Pistol - Herzstopper, the Level 4 Magnum - Annihilator, and the Level 4 Tommy Gun - Spectre Minigun, and players can also unlock the 'Hired Assassin' content to add the most powerful crew member in the game. A further three 'Favour Missions' are also available to buy on Marketplace for 250 Microsoft Points.

EA certainly seems to have embraced the notion of micro-transactions - does this mean that more teams will be added to the rather trim Xbox 360 version of FIFA 07 in the future???

Isn´t buying and selling of ingame currency regarded "illegal" by most game companies? I guess its ok as long as the publisher is the one making the money. I am afraid functions like these will only allow developers to think: ehh, we&... [ Read full comment... ]
