EA R&D Confirms PS3 Sensors Were An Unknown Before Sony Conference News

As the fallout from this week's press conferences continue, TVG learns that the PS3 motion sensors were a surprise to Electronic Arts...
When Sony announced that the PlayStation3 controller would take advantage of motion sensors, it would have been safe to assume that the company had divulged such information to some of its publishers.
Yet speaking to two representatives from Electronic Arts' Vancouver based Research & Development department, TVG has today learned that news of the PlayStation3 controller's motion control sensors was a complete surprise to R&D before Sony's conference on Monday.
As such questions must be raised about the number of PlayStation3 titles that will take advantage of the sensors, especially from the raft of launch titles. That said the EA R&D team confirmed that they'll have to take a closer look at the controller in the near future.
