EA release details about the online features in its PS2 titles...

In keeping with its single-minded approach towards online gaming, EA confirmed that the entire 2003-2004 catalogue of EA Sports titles would feature online play exclusive to the Playstation2.

The American publisher also took the opportunity to announce online details for four other Playstation2 titles.

As TVG first learnt back in June, āMedal of Honor: Rising Sunā will feature a range of multiplayer modes exclusive to the Playstation2. The game will feature nine levels for up to eight players to fight in, along with USB headphone support and matchmaking utilities.

āThe Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kingā will offer online two-player co-operative play through the entire game. To cater for this the game will include matchmaking utilities, buddy lists and the ability to chat in the games lobby via the EA Messenger System.

āThe Sims: Bustin Outā will feature online two-player co-operative play, and a trading system to allow players to exchange social interactions and objects.

Finally āThe Need For Speed: Undergroundā allows up to four players to compete in drag, sprint, circuit and drift racing modes. The car that you build offline can be taken online for others to judge, whilst a Ranking System keeps tracks of the 100 top racers. Additionally EA claim that the PS2 version will be compatible with the PC version, allowing both gamers to take on and challenge each other.

Weāll have more news on these titles soon.
