EA Forging A New Lord Of The Rings Title News

Speaking at the Hollywood and Games Summit, EALA's Steve Gray confirms development on the untitled LOTR game...
Just when you thought that the Lord of the Rings phenomenon would be dying down with the 2006 releases of Battle for Middle-Earth II and the forthcoming Lord of the Rings Online, it seems that Tolkien's fantasy world will continue to be plundered for videogame content.
Speaking at the Hollywood and Games Summit, Electronic Arts Los Angeles Executive Producer Steve Gray has confirmed that work on a new Lord of the Rings title is currently on-going. News of the confirmation comes via online industry publication Next-Gen.biz, which confirmed that the untitled game resembled elements of Fellowship of the Ring, with Gray describing the title as a 'story construction kit'.
So three years after the cinematic release of Peter Jackson's adaptation of Return of the King, it seems that at least one publisher isn't quite ready to leave the one ring burn in the fires of Mount Doom.
