SimCity Creator heading to Nintendo's platforms this September; multiple hero buildings and city styles available...
SimCity will be getting a brand new iteration this Autumn, with the September release of SimCity Creator for Wii and Nintendo DS. Disturbingly described as "highly creative game with a sense of humour" (memories of SimCity Societies still haunt us here at TVG), SimCity Creator for Wii allows gamers - of all ages - to create and construct their own metropolis.
Both handheld and home console editions of the game will include their own unique features. The Wii version will include over thirteen different city styles are available, such as European, American, and Asian, together with over thirty 'Hero' buildings (no, we don't know what they are either), and the obligatory natural disasters. The DS edition however, will chart the construction of a player's city from an ancient beginning, to a sci-fi future.
"SimCity Creator for the Wii and Nintendo DS brings two separate, delightful new ways to create, enjoy and destroy your own cities," said Rod Humble, Head of Studio for The Sims Label. "On the Wii, for the first time in the SimCity franchise, you will have the ability to build curved roads and differently shaped zones allowing you to make more authentic places all utilizing the motions of the Wii remote. Employing the new city advisor system, you will be able to make the game as complex or simple as you want."
"On Nintendo DS, we will give you the ability to make a city develop through time and to overcome the different challenges each era of urban development presents. I know both long-time and new SimCity players will enjoy these innovative experiences in SimCity Creator starting this September!"
European gamers will get their hands on the new SimCity offering on September 19th, whilst North Americans will have to the a little more patient: it's landing across the pond a few days later, on September 22nd.
