In The Lord of the Rings: The White Council, players have the freedom to explore the open world of Tolkien's Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings, The White Council. Players can choose their role as a man, an elf, a dwarf, or a hobbit. Each role's destiny is to become a hero allied with the White Council, whose members include the famed characters Gandalf, Saruman, Galadriel, and Elrond.

EA Cans Lord Of The Rings: The White Council??? News

Speculation emerges from the US that the former 'Project Grey' has been cancelled; no comment from EA.


Originally announced as the mysterious 'Project Grey', reports from across the pond are today suggesting that 'Lord of the Rings: The White Council' has been cancelled by Electronic Arts.

The game, which had been touted as an open-world RPG set in Middle-Earth, was only officially unveiled in July 2006, and was being developed by EA Redwood Shores for Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and PC.

TVG contacted EA about the current status of the game, with representatives responding with a simple "no comment".

Expect further clarification shortly.
