EA releases the first details of the next chapter in the Lord of the Rings series...
With The Lord of the Rings trilogy finally coming to an end towards the end of this year, you could bet your bottom dollar that a slew of videogames will follow the release; first up EAâs action adaptation.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is scheduled for release on the Playstation2, Xbox, GameCube, GameBoy Advance and PC later in the year.
Based on the forthcoming Peter Jackson film adaptation the game will let players journey through multiple gameplay paths, taking control of the trilogyâs heroes including Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Sam and Frodo as they attempt to secure the fate of the ring.
From the first details it appears that the game will play similarly to the first title released from EA; thankfully it appears that EA have listened to the main complaints from that title and included a multiplayer co-op mode for the sequel, which should certainly improve the experience.
