EA Announce UEFA Champion’s League News

February will be when the fight for Europe begins, thanks to the deal with EA and UEFA…
The release of this yearsâ UEFA Euro 2004 was a success for EA and the software giant has decided to expand its repertoire further into the European side of football with confirmation that the development of UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2004 â“ 2005 is currently underway at EA Canada in Vancouver. Although the team creating the game is a new one from the guys that created Euro 2004, the continued improvements made to the FIFA franchise should mean that the game continues to make EAâs football franchises arguably closer to their main rival â“ Pro Evo.
Announcing the new title, Jan Bolz, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Electronic Arts Europe said, "This is an exciting extension to our existing football games portfolio creating unique gaming experience around the romance of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE."
Further to that, Lars-Christer Olsson, CEO of UEFA commented, "We are thrilled to team up with Electronic Arts on bringing the most prestigious European club competition to football enthusiasts of all agesâ¦Our close collaboration throughout the development of this game has ensured that players will be able to experience the most life-like rendition of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE in a game format."
The game will feature 50 on and off field missions that players will have to complete in order to win the top European club prize, but what these missions actually entail at the moment is anyoneâs guess.
The game is due for release on 14th February 2005 on all of the home consoles and PC.
