EA confirm a sequel to the hit Allied Assault is on the way...
Along with the new console title, EA announced new PC titles in the Medal of Honor series; like the console titles, the major game will be set during the Pacific conflict with the Japanese.
Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault is the true sequel to the excellent Allied Assault and will pick up from the first moments of the Pearl Harbour bombing, as players take the role of a young soldier through the first two years of the conflict.
EALA began work shortly after completing the âSpearheadâ expansion pack and hopes to have the game ready for release in early 2004. Once again gamers can expect a balanced mixture of scripted events and key historical action sequences, however the game is sad to offer multiple ways of completing mission objectives.
Although the game will make use of the QuakeIII engine, EALA have reworked a number of features including the renderer to compete with next yearâs technology. The ânewâ engine will allow for more objects on screen to help the replication of Pearl Harbour, and will be able to cope with large open areas more efficiently.
