EA Announce FIFA Street 2 News

A teaser trailer and new information on the forthcoming sequel that makes us feel old...
Given the success of the somewhat iffy FIFA Street and the fact that development on a sequel had been confirmed at the beginning on the year, it hardly comes as a surprise to find EA officially lifting the wraps from the title.
Currently in development under the EA SPORTS BIG label for a Spring 2006 release, FIFA Street 2 continues along the same lines as its predecessor with four on four gameplay across the streets of the world, including the famous Westway Leisure Centre in London to the beautiful beaches of Brazil.
EA promise an all-new trick-stick beat system to humiliate your opponents, over the top juggling moves and all-new gamebreakers to completely throw any sense of balance out of the window ā“ but then again EA BIG games have never really been about a careful approach to the sport.
One-on-one encounters also introduces a new feature known as āBeat Battlesā, which requires both the attacking and defending players to square off and use the Trick-Stick to attack and counter-attack skill moves to steal away the opponentās credibility and completely unravel their tricks.
"FIFA Street is a game franchise with its own unique flair that celebrates soccer culture and styles from around the globe," said executive producer Wil Mozell. "We're very excited to be developing FIFA Street 2, a sequel with more depth, more killer moves from the street, and more than 300 top players and 20 national teams, which is going to deliver a truly immersive street soccer experience."
Letās just hope theyāve changed the commentator this time aroundā¦
