EA confirm a sequel to the hugely popular Battlefield: 1942...
EA today announced the development of Battlefield: Vietnam â“ sequel to the popular PC online first-person-shooter Battlefield: 1942.
Currently in development at Digital Illusions Canada and scheduled for release in early 2004, we can expect the same action-packed style that won acclaim for the original. Dropping players into some of the Vietnam Warâs fiercest battles, fighting in locations ranging from the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the city streets of Hue, players can choose from either the United States army or the North Vietnamese Army and Vietcong.
In keeping with the original, Battlefield: Vietnam will offer a wide range of vehicles to pilot, ranging from the helicopters for the U.S to Russian made Mig-21 jets for the NVA. The sequel introduces two major enhancements to the original, allowing passengers to fire from a moving vehicle and the ability to airlift other vehicles via helicopters.
The sequel will also feature significant visual enhancements, with new rendering and sound engines at work.
