EA And Def Jam Announce The Takeover News

PSP prequel to Def Jam Vendetta announced by Electronic Arts; US release in Spring 2006...
Electronic Arts and Def Jam have today announced a joint statement to confirm the development of Def Jam: Fight for NY - The Takeover, for PSP. The game, a prequel to Def Jam Vendetta, follows the story of how D-Mob took over the Big Apple and will feature a range of hip-hop artists including Busta Rhymes, Lil' Kim, Ludacris, Method Man, Redman, Snoop Dogg, and Xzibit, and celebrities such as Carmen Electra. Wi-Fi based head to head battles are also set to ensue in the game.
Players will also be able to create their owner fighter and clothe them with the latest from brands including Def Jam University, Phat Farm, Ecko Unlimited, Reebok, and Sean John.
"We are excited to continue our strong relationship with Def Jam and bring this critically acclaimed franchise to the PSP for the first time ever," said Craig Rechenmacher, Senior Director of Marketing for EA. "The exclusive new fighting moves, new gameplay content and original story mode bring a completely fresh Def Jam experience to the handheld."
