Microsoft confirms an early November return to the war between mankind and the Locust Horde...
At a packed keynote, Microsoft has tonight confirmed a worldwide launch date for Epic Games' Xbox 360 exclusive action-shooter, Gears of War 2.
Scheduled to hit the console like a sledgehammer from November 7th, just two days short of the second anniversary of Gears of War 1's launch, Cliff Bleszinski also confirmed a new multiplayer mode for the sequel called 'Horde'.
A five-player co-operative mode, Horde sounds like a real backs-to-the-wall gametype, where players will face up to wave after wave of Locust in scenarios that rekindle stories of Custer's Last Stand. Horde definitely sounds like the sort of hardcore gametype that players will be chomping for come November.
The former Cliffy B also announced that players will be able to ride Brumaks in the final game. The giant toothy creatures of nightmares may have been given a brief supporting role in the original, but they look to be far more involved in the epic landscapes of Gears 2.
So just a reminder - Gears 2 in just fifteen weeks time.
