Actvision to follow the Halo 3 strategy with a Multiplayer Beta test on Xbox Live...


As the 'diet' version of E3 continues to get underway in Santa Monica, Activision today announced that a Multiplayer Beta for Infinity Ward's upcoming Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be arriving exclusively on Xbox Live in August.

Following Bungie's example with Halo 3 back in the Spring, the closed Beta will be accessible in a number of ways, though Actvision are yet to reveal how gamers can sign up...how about linking it to a game that's expected to sell poorly otherwise?

Further details including the number of maps and gametypes are due in the coming weeks, along with a more precise timeline for when the Beta will take place.

Because Halo players cant handle the amount of people that have dropped off to play Cod4, i like Halo Just not as much as I like COD4, Killing beasties is ok but...gets a bit....well....dull

The patch added new features as well as important hosting changes. It wasn't just issues, it was making the game better. Maybe the PS3 will get something similar down the line too.

Neither Halo 3 or COD 4 are based on anything true to life at all. Great to see this patch now out though. Hopefully it'll help those sniper rifles especially, because I've found them to be SO hit and miss on that game. Also looking forward to seeing... [ Read full comment... ]
